Trader Joe's Onions Recalled: Listeria Contamination
The bags are labeled with "Lot 2017-R," and a Best-if-used-by date of 06/16/07.
Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths in pregnant women, and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail elderly, or people with compromised immune systems. Among otherwise healthy people, the organism frequently causes short-term symptoms of high fever, severe headache, nausea, stiffness, diarrhea and abdominal cramps.
